Course Information

Using the proven model of Clemson training, a limited group of 6 attendees will perform a hands-on evaluation of cutting-edge printing ink systems in a NON-SALES educational environment. Each participant will create a custom package design (or have one provided), and produce it using three ink set technologies: conventional CMYK, custom process colors incorporating spot colors, and extended gamut using CMYK Plus.

Industry attendees will take their project from creation through finishing, and have the opportunity to personally evaluate each step of the color workflows. With the experience gained from the two-day class, participants will return to their companies ready to evaluate current printing systems, and move to the next level of top quality package printing.

What you Will Learn
  • The limitations of CMYK in package printing
  • Advantages and disadvantages to extended gamut printing systems
  • How to use spot colors as process printing colors
  • How GOP and n-color works with current flexo workflows
  • Proofing limitations and concerns with advanced color systems
